Osteoarthritis is the erosion of articular cartilage and is one example of what can go wrong in a joint.

For horses with osteoarthritis, the balance between the break down and synthesis of the extracellular matrix is disrupted and results in destruction of the tissue.

Osteoarthritis is a major cause of lameness in athletic horses and can be a painful condition that can significantly shorten a horse’s career.

A simple English explanation of arthritis is the breakdown of the cartilage that lines the bones that make up a joint. Cartilage can be worn down to the point where bone rubs together and cartilage fragments can also break off, which irritate adjacent structures.

As the joint wears and becomes dysfunctional, pain occurs in the muscles that support and generate movement in the joint.

Published research results indicate that the aim of oral ingredients containing  the natural ingredients listed below, is to rehabilitate damaged cartilage, reduce inflammation, improve mobility, and ease arthritis pain.

The public forum available on the internet has thousands of published research articles discussing these ingredients.

There are many discussions, apart from the scientific research trials that have been conducted regarding animals, including horses that have consumed some or all of these ingredients.

Maxiflex has proven success rates. These include a foal with a fractured lateral splint bone (near fore leg under knee joint). Several X-rays and acute lameness indicated that the foal should be destroyed at 6 weeks.

Subsequently at 3 years of age the horse was broken in and ridden constantly since that time.  This horse has now been staying

sound and competing on Maxiflex for over 12 years.

Maxiflex has been manufactured since 1999 under a strict Quality Assurance process by our registered APMVA supplier. This guarantees that the ingredients listed on the label match the contents of each factory sealed container.

Our products have a Use By date clearly marked and are immediately exchanged free of charge if any fault is detected by our customers.

Not Only Horses

Horses feature prominently on this site but in most cases Complementary Supplements apply equally to dogs, cats and other animals and pets.

It's just that most of the research has been funded (either directly or indirectly) by the equine industry so there is more information/research available with an equine "bias".
